Qualifications
Project Managing/Event Planning:
- Conceived 50th Birthday Celebrations, e.g. “Kicking Off 50 Years of Masconomet Football”, for multiple athletic teams, 2009-2010.
- Chaired Topsfield EXPO 2008, a tradeshow for the town that attracted 500 visitors.
- As Topsfield Main Street Foundation Board Member, conceptualized and implemented “Extreme Makeover-Topsfield Edition” to upgrade 4 sites around town in collaborative effort with town departments and local businesses in spring 2007.
- As Topsfield Main Street Foundation Events Coordinator, developed program in collaboration with American Legion Post 225 members for Veterans’ Memorial Green Dedication on November 7, 2009.
Leadership:
- Participated on 4 member Trustee Nominating Committee at Bowdoin College in 2008.
- While serving as representative from NSCC to the North Shore Superintendents’ Roundtable, assisted District Attorney’s Office with regional seminar planning.
- As Chair of the Topsfield Recycling Committee, persuaded the Town’s legislative body to become one of the first communities in the region to adopt Pay-as-You-Throw method of trash collection in 1998.
Innovation:
- Transformed Youth Programs at NSCC by clearly delineating and rebranding programs that target different age groups (Summer of Discovery, Parents to College).
- Created more than 50 leading-edge courses such as Geocaching, Robotics, and Dancin’ to the Stars.
- Coordinated the installation of an outdoor learning center at Topsfield’s Steward School using Municipal Recycling Incentive Program grant funds and family donations.
Public Relations/Customer Service:
- Prepared all promotional materials (catalog, brochures, etc.) for extensive Youth Programs at North Shore Community College.
- Provided more than 12 pages of content for award-winning web site (www.northshore.edu).
Fundraising:
- Provided guidance as one of twelve Fund Directors for Bowdoin College over three year period (2006-2009) while the school was engaged in a 293 million dollar capital campaign.
- As a Gift Committee Chairperson, presided over efforts to trump reunion giving records to the Annual Fund at Bowdoin College in 1997 and 2007 ($292k, 25% increase).
- Securing new sponsorships and valuable donations in fourth year of service to the Austin Preparatory School Golf Committee.
Dedication:
- Associated with Kids to College program at NSCC for 19 years.
- Serving Bowdoin as Class Agent for more than 18 years.
- Volunteering for Town of Topsfield on multiple boards/committees for 15 years.
